At Africa Climate Week, our experts highlighted the urgent need to reckon with the full scope of the climate challenge and advance a diverse array of climate solutions that build on the need to reduce the impacts of climate change, decarbonize industries, address energy poverty, and elevate the region’s potential for innovation, economic development and leadership.

Event details:

On September 6, CATF will co-host an official side event:  The Role of African Power Utilities in a Just Energy Transition in partnership with EED Advisory, Kenya Power, and the Energy Regulators Association of East Africa. It will be held between 17:00-18:00 EAT and the live stream link is available here.

Representatives of CATF’s Methane Pollution Prevention team are also on the ground, participating in a high-level event on the Global Methane Pledge on September 7 and engaging with our various country partners in Sub-Saharan Africa.

CATF at Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week

CATF is co-hosting an event at the Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week (LACCW) this week, working to advance action in line with the goals of the Global Methane Pledge with a focus on mitigating waste methane in the region. CATF highlighted the importance of addressing methane to achieve climate goals and facilitate a conversation showcasing how Latin American and Caribbean governments, industry, and society are addressing and can address organic waste management.
