His work included representing the company and developing and executing policy strategy at the state, federal, and international levels on priorities related to market access, company footprint expansion, and sustainability advocacy.

Prior to Rivian, Dan worked on climate policy in various roles in Washington, D.C., starting in the U.S. Senate on the Senate Committee on Finance under former Chairman Max Baucus of Montana, and later with former Colorado Senator Mark Udall on his Energy and Natural Resources Committee portfolio. He also served in roles as a congressional liaison at NASA, defending the agency’s earth science budget, and at the Natural Resources Defense Council and Audubon.

Dan is originally from Missoula, Montana, and now resides in Seattle, Washington. He holds a B.A. in physics from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and a M.S. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
