About the event
Fusion energy is closer than ever to powering our homes and businesses with abundant, clean, secure, and reliable energy. Fusion reactions release incredible amounts energy without generating air pollution, making fusion an attractive resource for clean energy grids. Major advances in science and engineering over the past 10 years have catalyzed global investments to deploy commercial fusion energy. In the United States alone, more than 25 private companies have raised nearly $7 billion dollars to support technology research and development. Multiple companies have broken ground on demonstration fusion machines and are racing to be the first to supply fusion electricity to customers.
States will play a vital role in the commercialization and deployment of fusion energy, and leading states will realize energy and economic benefits. This webinar will provide a deep dive into fusion energy, explaining how it works, its benefits, and what is needed for fusion commercialization. CATF experts also will discuss a menu of policies states can advance to drive and benefit from the commercialization of fusion energy.
