About the event

Comprehensive, transparent, timely, and accurate measurement of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is essential for tracking progress and meeting climate goals. Among the GHGs, methane is particularly difficult to measure. There are enormous discrepancies in methane emission measurements for countries worldwide.

This session will explore developments in the use of satellites for measuring and tracking methane emissions. It will also provide a deep dive into methane emission measurement and actions, with a focus on the oil and gas sector and on the Arabian Gulf region and Saudi Arabia.
