Lesley Feldman

Lesley Feldman is Director, Research and Analysis on the Methane Pollution Prevention team at Clean Air Task Force. She leads the program’s research and analytical work, setting research priorities and overseeing the technical methodologies and quality standards that support methane mitigation policies worldwide. Lesley directs research and analysis on methane emissions, leak detection and repair, gas flaring, and lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions, and helps translate technical evidence into effective policy and regulatory strategies. She has contributed technical analysis and policy recommendations for advocacy in the United States and internationally. Lesley also leads development of the Country Methane Abatement Tool (CoMAT), which helps governments estimate oil and gas methane emissions and design effective methane reduction policies.

Prior to joining CATF, Lesley worked at Union of Concerned Scientists as an analyst in the Energy Program, where she conducted research on coal plant retirements and the role of natural gas in electricity generation. She also worked on the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Ratings team at MSCI, Inc., analyzing the environmental and social performance of energy and mining companies. Lesley received a Masters in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and holds a B.A. in History and Economics from Haverford College.
