Expanded North American Work, Providing Expert Support in Canada and Mexico

In 2018, CATF pushed Mexican and Canadian environmental officials to fully implement 2018 methane emissions rules (which we had previously helped to create) and apply them to their respective oil and gas sectors. When fully implemented — and combined with the U.S. EPA rules — these regulations are expected to eliminate approximately five million tons of methane — the equivalent of shutting down 112 coal-fired power plants.
