Response to the proposed delay in EU Methane Regulation implementation 

Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is deeply concerned about the European Commission’s proposal for a one-year delay to the EU Methane Regulation’s (EUMR) importer monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) requirements.

CATF experts show that evidence does not support claims that financial, legal, or reputational risks warrant a delay, alongside recommendations for a delayed but not weakened implementation.
