Joint Letter: Organisations Urge European Commission to Implement Strong Article 23 Penalty Regimes Under the EU Net-Zero Industry Act
CATF joined sixteen organisations from across the Carbon Capture and Storage value chain to publish an open letter calling for the rapid implementation of strong Article 23 penalty regimes under the EU Net-Zero Industry Act.
Achieving the EU’s 50 Mt CO₂ injection capacity target by 2030 will depend on a regulatory framework that provides certainty to investors, project developers and industrial users of CO₂ storage. This includes the implementation of effective, proportionate and dissuasive penalties for non-compliance with Article 23 obligations under the NZIA.
