Director, Waste Methane

About

Kait Siegel is the Director for Waste Methane at Clean Air Task Force. Since joining the organization in 2022, she has worked to advance strategies and policies to reduce waste sector methane emissions globally. Kait also oversees CATF’s country engagement work with the Waste Methane Assessment Platform (WasteMAP).

Prior to joining CATF, Kait worked as a Climate Policy Specialist at Abt Associates where she supported the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Agency for International Development, among other federal, state, and international organizations in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to the impacts of climate change. Through support for the Global Methane Initiative and Climate and Clean Air Coalition, Kait focused on abatement of methane and other short-lived climate pollutants from the waste and agriculture sectors. Additionally, her work focused on understanding the co-benefits of climate mitigation and adaptation actions.

Kait received a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. She also holds a B.A. from Siena College in Biology.
