About the event
Nuclear energy is gaining widespread interest, as the U.S. electric load grows, electricity affordability and reliability move up the agenda, and there remains demand for carbon free power.
Nuclear Energy: Key Facts and Issues is a four-day program co-hosted by Clean Air Task Force and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology featuring world-class academic and industry experts. These experts will share critical and objective insights into nuclear energy technologies, their potential applications, and the challenges shaping their role in a high growth (and lower carbon) future. At this course, attendees will:
- Learn about nuclear energy basics – how it works and current issues around economics, safety, waste, security and ensuring peaceful use.
- Participate in focused discussions that examine the benefits, challenges, and future outlook of nuclear technologies.
- Engage with a select group of thought leaders in a collaborative setting guided by Chatham House Rules, promoting candid and meaningful dialogue.
- Have an opportunity to tour the nearby Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant to see the technology at work firsthand.
To maintain a thoughtfully curated group, space is limited and participation is by invitation only. To be considered, please email Kristi Stone at [email protected] with your affiliation and a brief note on your interest in attending. If accepted, you’ll receive a link to register, which includes a $150 registration fee. Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging. Thanks to the generous support of climate-focused philanthropies, limited cost-sharing assistance may be available for those with financial need.
