About the event

As countries in Central and Eastern Europe work to decarbonise their industrial sectors while remaining globally competitive, carbon capture and storage (CCS) is emerging as a key solution. Yet, despite rising carbon prices and mounting EU climate obligations, many CCS projects in the region still lack a strong business case without targeted public support and financial de-risking.

This webinar will feature the launch of a new CATF policy brief outlining a practical, cost-effective path for CCS deployment in CEE. The brief explores how national governments, in coordination with project developers, can reduce funding needs and accelerate delivery by investing in domestic CO₂ storage capacity and tapping into both EU and national funding instruments.

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion featuring experts from the policy, finance, and industry sectors.
