About the event
Europe’s transition to a decarbonised and competitive energy system hinges on the resilience and modernisation of its electricity grid. As demand for clean energy and cross-border connections grows, the current grid infrastructure is under mounting pressure, with investment and adaptation lagging behind. Challenges such as the need for firm and flexible capacity to support weather-dependent renewables, alongside increasing climate-related risks, are testing the limits of the existing system. Regulatory hurdles, slow permitting processes, and fragmented grid planning across Member States further exacerbate these structural issues, delaying progress and complicating deployment.
The European Commission’s upcoming Grid Package, part of the Action Plan for Affordable Energy, presents a timely opportunity to address these challenges. If designed effectively, it can lay the foundation for a more coordinated, future-proof grid system that enhances security, resilience, and integration across the EU.
We are pleased to invite you to this webinar which will bring together key stakeholders to explore actionable, forward-looking policy solutions and identify key priorities for an impactful EU Grid Package. The session is part of CATF’s ongoing webinar series on Accelerating Europe’s Power Decarbonisation: Planning, Procurement, and Contracting. Recordings.
