Event Details:

November 10, 2026

11:30am–12:30pm TRT

Ethiopia Pavilion, Blue Zone

About the event

Mobilising new sources of capital is essential to accelerating clean energy transitions in Africa and other low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Despite growing investment needs, declining development finance, high borrowing costs, and geopolitical uncertainty continue to constrain progress. This panel will examine the challenges and opportunities for scaling climate finance, assess progress since the COP29 New Collective Quantified Goal and the Baku to Belém Roadmap to 1.3T, and explore innovative financing mechanisms and partnerships to mobilise investment ahead of COP32.

Hosted by Clean Air Task Force, featuring Brian Mukhaya, in partnership with Climate Compatible Growth, Imperial College London, and CETEx at the London School of Economics, the discussion will bring together public and private sector stakeholders to identify practical approaches to overcoming financing barriers, strengthening cross-regional collaboration, and advancing climate finance priorities on the Road to Addis.
