About the event

Please join Clean Air Task Force and Compass Lexecon virtually for the launch of the report, Accelerating the deployment of clean power technologies to reliably decarbonise Europe through enhanced planning and contracting mechanisms.

In 2025, all eyes are on the European Commission to start delivering on its transformational plan, the Clean Industrial Deal and the Action Plan for Affordable Energy, designed to enhance Europe’s competitiveness and reduce electricity prices while advancing decarbonisation and re-industrialisation goals. The timing could not be more urgent, as Europe enters into a new phase of deep decarbonisation and massive expansion of its power system where significant challenges related to the pace and scale of investment, investment uncertainty, power system volatility, and retiring firm power capacity are emerging in force.

This timely webinar will present the findings of a new report by Compass Lexecon, commissioned by CATF, shedding light on the gaps and solutions for accelerating the deployment of clean power technologies to reliably decarbonise Europe through enhanced planning and contracting mechanisms. This report, together with CATF policy recommendations, will serve as the foundation for a dynamic discussion among EU and national regulators, policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and think tank representatives.
