Position Title: Manager, Talent Management, Human Resources

 Reports To: Director, Total Rewards, Human Resources, U.S. 

Location: Remote within the United States (ability to work east coast hours preferred)

Type: Full-time, one year contract

ABOUT CATF:

Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a nonprofit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies. This is accomplished through research and analysis, public advocacy leadership, and partnership with the private sector. CATF is highly respected for its deep expertise and research on energy and industrial systems and potential strategies, technologies, and policies that can radically shrink their impact on the planet’s atmosphere. Our team of experts and advocates (and global network of subject matter experts and civil society partners) put this research and knowledge into action by designing and enacting public policies that drive toward zero emissions. We also support policies and work directly with private industry to innovate in technology to make the path to zero emissions swift and affordable. CATF has offices in Boston, Washington D.C., and Brussels, with staff working virtually around the world.

ROLE:

The Manager, Talent Management, Human Resources position plays a critical, hands-on role in supporting and advancing our people operations. This role independently leads our global recruitment efforts (including the standardization of an internship program) and oversees a thoughtful, effective onboarding experience for new hires. In addition to talent management, the position drives priority HR projects from concept through completion, manages essential administrative and operational processes that keep the organization running smoothly, and provides day-to-day support to the Human Resources team. This position is ideal for a highly organized, proactive HR professional who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and enjoys balancing strategic projects with practical execution.

Key functions and responsibilities:

Recruitment

  • Independently manage full-cycle recruitment for roles across regions and functions, from workforce planning through offer and close
  • Partner with hiring managers to clarify role needs, design inclusive hiring strategies, and ensure timely, high-quality hiring outcomes
  • Lead job posting development, candidate sourcing, interview coordination, and candidate communications to deliver a consistent, equitable experience
  • Attend and represent the organization at career fairs and recruiting events, engaging directly with candidates and building relationships with key academic and professional partners
  • Implement and maintain fair, structured, and compliant hiring practices aligned with organizational values and global best practices
  • Monitor recruitment metrics, identify process improvements, and continuously refine hiring workflows to support organizational growth
  • Design, administer, and continuously improve the organization’s internship program, ensuring a meaningful, well-supported experience for interns and teams

Project Management

  • Lead and support HR projects, including but not limited to talent acquisition, onboarding, training and development, and employee engagement
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, allocate resources, and monitor project progress
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve the employee experience through more efficient tools, templates, and guidance materials

 Additional Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end onboarding logistics for new hires and offboarding logistics for departing staff
  • Serve as an accessible point of contact for staff questions and general HR support requests
  • Manage core HR administrative tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent in professional HR settings
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience, including recruitment
  • Experience working with international or global organizations preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Self-starter who enjoys taking initiative and helping others
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, managing projects within agreed timelines
  • Consistent follow-through, highly organized, and committed to high-quality work
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stay focused and communicative in a remote environment
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams
  • Ensure positive and collaborative relationships with others
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 8 – 10 times a year)

COMPENSATION AND LOCATION:

This is a full-time, remote position, with location flexible within the United States. CATF offers an excellent benefits package (details available on our careers page) and an annual salary range of $96,575 – $120,000 dependent on skills and experience. This is a one-year contract position.
