Gift from The Fowynd Foundation to boost CATF’s community engagement
A new philanthropic gift from The Foxwynd Foundation will help CATF ensure local communities take an active role in the development of carbon capture and storage projects in their areas.
The one-year $25,000 grant will bring local community groups and carbon capture and storage project developers together to share lessons learned during project developments, ensuring community needs are addressed and driving collaborative and innovative climate action at the local level.
“As with any infrastructure project, the successful development of carbon capture and storage projects hinges on thoughtful and consistent collaboration with the communities in which they are sited,” said John Thompson, Technology & Markets Director at CATF. “We’re grateful to the Fowynd Foundation for its generous gift and look forward to putting it to good use in service of people and the planet.”
CATF will hold a series of engagements for project developers to learn about communities’ perspectives, values, and priorities as they relate to energy infrastructure.
“At Foxwynd Foundation, we believe effective collaboration between communities and project developers is essential for climate solutions,” said Pamela Villagra, Executive Director of The Foxwynd Foundation. “We’re proud to support CATF with this $25,000 grant to empower local voices and drive innovative climate action.”
The Foxywnd Foundation DAF funded the Foxwynd Foundation’s generous donation to Clean Air Task Force.
