Michael Dioha

Senior Energy Researcher

Dr. Michael Dioha serves as a Senior Energy Researcher at Clean Air Task Force (CATF). He takes pride in his contributions to the energy transition, focusing his research on energy-environment-economic modeling, Africa’s energy transition, energy policy and planning, as well as interdisciplinary issues in energy and climate justice.

Prior to his role at CATF, Michael was a postdoctoral research scientist at the Carnegie Institution for Science at Stanford University. There, he conducted research on the value of electric vehicles in deeply decarbonized electricity systems. Michael has extensive experience collaborating on international projects with individuals from diverse backgrounds. He has demonstrated leadership and project management skills at both national and international levels, and he provides advisory and analytical services to international organizations, including the International Renewable Energy Agency.

Michael has authored numerous scholarly articles in peer-reviewed academic journals and has actively participated in professional engagements at international energy symposiums. He also serves on the editorial board of the journal – Environmental Research Letters.

In addition to his role at CATF, Michael is a Fellow at the Energy for Growth Hub. He is also recognized as a Fellow of the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria and holds membership in several professional organizations, including the Association of Energy Engineers. Michael’s educational background includes an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Energy & Environment and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. Outside of his professional endeavors, Michael enjoys playing soccer, hiking, and cycling.
