About

Magnolia Tovar is CATF’s Global Director of Zero-Carbon Fuels. Magnolia promotes policy in the EU and member states to expand the role of zero-carbon fuels in heavy transportation and decarbonizing heavy industry as well as other sectors.

Prior to CATF, Magnolia worked for KBR Advisory Consultant where she worked in energy transition projects which included decarbonization activities and zero-carbon fuels adoption in the industrial, power and transportation sector. While at KBR, she assessed the imports and adoption of hydrogen to significantly reduce carbon emissions for an Asian client. She also studied the development of a blue hydrogen supply chain in Asia. Before working at KBR, Magnolia was a Principal Consultant at KBC Advanced Technology where she executed and led projects for the energy sector to optimize energy performance, clean fuels production, integrate digital solutions into industrial installations and designed business processes for clients.

Previously, Magnolia worked for Albemarle Catalyst supporting the European industrial sector in the production of clean fuels and removal of pollutants such as sulfur and nitrogen with hydrogen processing technologies.

Magnolia is a chemical engineer with two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry in more than 20 countries. She started her career in Valero Energy and Technip in Aruba, the U.S., and Italy. She lives in Amsterdam and speaks Dutch, English, and Spanish.
