About
Kendra Hughes is the U.S. Policy Manager with the Methane Pollution Prevention team at CATF. She is responsible for developing and advocating for policies that promote methane reduction across sectors in the U.S., working in partnership with CATF’s Legal and Federal Policy teams.
Prior to CATF, Kendra worked in the Political Affairs department at Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) for over six years. She started on the National Field Operations Team, where she built and activated a network of local volunteers to engage with their members of Congress around climate change mitigation and clean energy policy. She then transitioned into a role on EDF’s Federal Affairs team, advocating for air quality, climate change mitigation, and environmental justice legislation on Capitol Hill. She also took on an integral role in building out EDF’s broader environmental justice strategy and internal diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Kendra began her career at Greenpeace USA, working on the D.C. office Facilities team and learning how an environmental organization operates. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Mount St. Mary’s University.
