About

Julie Lanza joined CATF in January 2003 to manage all foundation grants and prospect research and works closely with project staff to coordinate proposal writing and grant reporting, and to develop new funding opportunities.

Before joining CATF, Julie worked as a freelance writer and development consultant with such organizations as Appalachian Mountain Club, Red Tomato, the Boston Early Music Festival, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Project STEP. Previously, Julie was Grants Manager and Director of Foundation Giving for the Conservation Law Foundation in Boston, from 1994 to 2000. Before that she worked for 10 years as a reporter and editor in the Boston area, covering environmental issues, higher education, and the Massachusetts State House. Julie received a B.A., with honors, in journalism and an M.A. in history from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
