Johanna Ostrum joined CATF in 2021 as a Senior Fellow in Methane Policy. She also serves on the Board of the Energy Leadership Institute, a leadership program for mid-career energy professionals who are passionate about climate change solutions and the future of the energy ecosystem. Johanna has fifteen years of experience within the energy industry as an engineer in the upstream oil and gas industry, and as a co-founder of a geothermal startup. After fourteen years within the oil and gas industry working at several different companies including Noble Energy, SM Energy, and Extraction Oil & Gas, Johanna joined Transitional Energy as Chief Operating Officer in early 2020. Transitional Energy is a geothermal energy company that takes heat waste from oil and gas wells and infrastructure to generate renewable energy for the grid. In addition, Johanna donates her time to develop Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programing and initiatives as the task force chair on DEI at Geothermal Rising. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from Montana Tech.
