About
Jakob joined CATF’s Zero-Carbon Fuels team in 2022 as EU Policy Manager. His work targets the development and promotion of policy in the EU to expand the role of zero-carbon fuels in the decarbonization of transportation, industrial, and power sectors. Jakob is based in Vienna, Austria.
Prior to joining CATF, Jakob served as a strategic energy policy officer at the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology where he worked across a wide range of energy specific themes including natural gas, LNG, biomethane and hydrogen. Jakob has also worked in several energy research and analytical roles, spanning intergovernmental organizations, the oil and gas industry and the commodities information sector.
In addition to his technical expertise, Jakob’s experience in the energy sector includes energy market dynamics and fundamentals, trade flows and operational activities, and policy and regulatory issues. Jakob previously worked for S&P Global Platts in London, OMV, and the International Energy Forum in Riyadh.
Jakob holds a B.Sc. in International Business and a M.Sc. in Energy Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, and a B.Sc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Leoben in Austria.
